How To Create A Powerful Vision Board That Actually Works

Do you believe that it is possible to manifest whatever you want in life?

Do you believe that daily affirmations lead to you reaching your goals and desires?

Whether you believe it or not, we can both agree on one thing:

The more you tell yourself that you're worthy of reaching a certain goal, the more likely you'll reach it.

Simply, this is how manifestation and affirmations work.

There's no secret 'affirmation Santa' that will come and make your dreams and wishes come true just because you spend some time every day repeating them.

But the more we see our goals, the more real they become, telling our subconscious minds that it is actually a lot more possible than we thought to achieve those goals.

This is why many people - even big names such as Deepak Chopra or Napoleon Hill from his book 'Think And Grow Rich' - preach about the power of manifestation.

Whatever your goals and aspirations are, you're probably going to face some sort of resistance on your merry way.

The road to success is never a straight line and this can be very daunting and demotivating.

So how are people combating this? How are some people always so optimistic in the face of uncertainty and doubt?

The answer is...

A vision board. Anticlimactic, I know.

'What exactly is a vision board?' You might be thinking.

Very simply put, a vision board is a visual representation of your goals and aspirations.

I've previously talked about the power of writing things down to get them out of your head and into the real world.

A vision board can be a step above this as you can visually and vividly see where you want to be right in front of your eyes, making it seem closer than you initially thought.

These vision boards can contain things such as pictures, quotes, beliefs, and affirmations surrounding your goals.

Creating a vision board is a lot easier (and more fun) than you think - this is where you let your creativity run wild.

After all, each vision board is going to be different for each person.

They are completely relative to one's own dreams and aspirations.

Essentially, whatever you find inspiring and motivational, you can include here.

But how do you get started with creating a vision board?

In this article, we're going to be outlining the 6 simple steps to creating a powerful vision board that actually works.

What is the vision?

How To Create A Powerful Vision Board That Actually Works
You're first going to want to sit down and take some time to really reflect.

For some of us, we're probably going to already know exactly what we want.

This can be health, wealth, stability, a relationship, a pet, children and the list goes on and on.

You can focus on one small and specific goal or you can cast a net at the bigger picture itself.

Generally, I prefer to paint a picture of how I want my life, in general, to look like X years down the line.

At the current stage in your life, what is the most important thing to you? Again, this could be financial stability, your career, your happiness, or whatever else your mind wanders to.

You can set a short-term or long-term timeframe depending on how you tend to work.

If you're more comfortable tracking longer-term goals, you may want to set a vision for what life will look like in a few years' time too.

Typically, if you're looking at the big picture, you should set a somewhat longer timeframe than if you're focusing on one or two key areas.

This process can take a very short time - if you know exactly what you want in life and are crystal clear on your vision.

Or it could also take a while, maybe a few hours or more if you're only now starting to really sit down and be one with your thoughts.

Get Creative

This part is going to require a bit of mental effort too.

After you've clearly defined what goal(s) you're going to be focusing on and the sort of time frame you have set to reach those goals, you're going to want to start thinking about words, phrases, and quotes.

Make a list of some of these words, phrases, and quotes that really mean something to you.

The goal here is to always keep you motivated and on the right path.

So think hard and clear about the sort of messages or quotes that really hold a place with you emotionally.

They must be relative to what your goals outlined are.

If you're looking to be financially stable, you may think of words such as 'freedom,' 'paradise,' 'luxury,' and so on.

You may think of quotes by people such as Elon Musk, Denzel Washington, or other idols you know of.

This part again may take a while but it's one of the most important parts of creating this vision board.

The messaging you have here will keep you going and inspire you every time you read it.

The best thing you can do with a vision board is tell a story.

Get ready to craft

How To Create A Powerful Vision Board That Actually Works
The next part will be completely dependant on you.

You don't need to copy anyone's vision boards or their styles because this is all about you.

It's what works for you - not what works for this person on social media with 3 million followers because he/she said so.

Are you an artist? Do you like drawing?

Are you more of a physical person? Do you like things around the house or in the real world?

Where do you spend most of your time?

Do you prefer digital over physical?

Ask yourself all these questions, and then you'll be able to know what sort of vision board you want to draw out.

If you're very artistic and crafty, you may want to get the pens, pencils, and crayons out because you're going to want to take a large card and start drawing out your vision board.

You can use the internet for inspiration, you can look up 'vision board ideas' on Google or Pinterest in order to see what other people with similar goals or aspirations are doing with theirs.

Again, you don't want to implicitly copy what they're doing because this will not be effective for you.

If you're not much of an artist but you still prefer to have a physical copy of your vision board to leave in places like your bedroom, your study, your car, or wherever you are, then don't worry.

You can follow the same principles and go on Google or Pinterest to find some images, quotes that you really like to print out.

You're going to need some glue for this one.

The cool thing about a physical vision board is that you can combine digital images, with your own writing and quotes.

Finally, you can do everything online (not surprising).

The way I built out my vision board is through a software called

Canva is one of the best software to design digital work online.

It makes it really easy for non-designers to create stunning, high-quality designs without much effort.

Oh... and it's free.

Start crafting

Once you have your account, you'll want to follow, once again, the same principles and find some images, quotes, words, and affirmations online using Google, Pinterest, or even Unsplash that really resonate with you.

This is the fun part. Get creative and let your imagination roam free.

Going back to our example, if you're goals are tied to financial freedom and stability, you may want to have pictures that represent what life will look like for you then.

This could be a large house, cars, trips to exotic places, and so on.

It could even be images of your idols - Muhammad Ali, Archimedes, and whoever else you may look up to.

Remember that your mind is your only barrier, this is where you can take off the shackles and go all out.

Dream big and don't be afraid to express yourself.

Whatever goes on this vision board of yours is all yours.

No one else will understand what's going on if they look at it.

When I made my vision board, my mother and other family members would look at it in bewilderment.

The thing about vision boards is that in order to make a really effective board, you'll want to tell a story through these images, quotes, and words.

This is going to be a story that you want to live within the time frame that you set for yourself.

So start creating, sticking, or drawing.

Serve it up

Once you have your final product, you're pretty much done.

But this last part is one of the most important.

When companies advertise, they want to reach their audience and emotionally move them with their ads.

If their audience doesn't see the advert, they will have wasted both time and money creating the ad or worse, the product itself.

The same principles hold true here too.

If you spent hours or a few days building this vision board, you'll want to make sure that you make the most out of it.

You're going to want to make sure that it works for you.

In order to do this, you need to place it somewhere you always visit.

This can be the bedroom, the kitchen, the study, the gym, your car, and even the toilet.

If you've gone the digital way, I firstly recommend you print out the vision board and leave it around the house too.

On top of this, you're at an advantage.

You are able to make it your display image, your Google homepage image, your social media cover photos (if you want), and even your phone's lock screen or home screen.

This is really effective because every time you open your phone, you're reminded that you have goals that need achieving.

Every time you open your laptop, you can clearly see the expectations you have for yourself.

When you're feeling down or like nothing is going right, you can clearly see the sort of life that is right on the other side of this hurdle.

When you're on the brink of giving up, you'll be reminded of the sort of dreams or aspirations you're throwing away.

Whenever you're in doubt, you can look over your vision board and feel a surge of reassurance enter your body.

Following up

How To Create A Powerful Vision Board That Actually Works

The one thing people fail to mention about manifestation is that the work is still required.

So make sure that you use your vision board to effectively follow up on your dreams and aspirations with daily action.

You can never skip out on the hard work.

Start taking action, knock off the goals you're setting, and don't be afraid to come back and reimagine your vision board.

Once you've accomplished your goals, you can come back and change the vision board.

Or you could also iterate it whenever you feel like it no longer works.

All of this is normal - it is normal to have a change of heart or start feeling different.

If your goals change, your vision board must also change with it.

How To Write The Ultimate 1-page Business Plan To Go From 0 to $1 million

How To Write The Ultimate 1-page Business Plan To Go From 0 to $1 million I remember when I started Condensr , my very first tech company. It was drastically different than anything else I've ever tried. Before that, I've done things like dropshipping and e-commerce , I tried forex , and I tried running a marketing agency . Those things require a lot less research than something like a tech-based company . They're simple, replicable businesses (generally). However, Condensr was different. I spoke to a bunch of people about it and was worried people will steal my idea - it never really happened. Tracing back, I remember a common trend taking place when I spoke to people about the business. "Do you have a business plan" they'd all tell me. "no...?" I answered back confused. "I have a pitch deck ..." A business plan is a 30-100 page document that outlines everything your business is going to do over its lifetime to accomplish its goals . It

What Is An NFT And How Do They Work [Complete Guide On NFTs]

What Is An NFT And How Do They Work [Complete Guide On NFTs] If you've been on the internet at some point over the last year, you may have heard of this new thing that's taken the internet by storm. While a minority of people know what they are and how exactly they work, the majority of the world seems to be allergic to this new 'trend,' as they call it. You may have realised that I am yet to write a single article on my blog about NFTs and what they are exactly. Although I've released a youTube video describing them briefly , there was a lot of information withheld for the simple fact that NFTs were brand new to me. In general, I dislike jumping on trends and would rather make evergreen content , or work on evergreen ideas with long-term sustainability . However, after taking a closer look at the world of NFTs and learning more about their concept, it's starting to seem like NFTs are not just a 'fad' and actually something worth looking into. The Big Difference Between Building a Brand vs Building a Business [Long-Term vs Short-Term Thinking]

The Big Difference Between Building a Brand vs Building a Business Imagine you've just clicked on an eCommerce guide to building an online dropshipping business . The first thing you're told to do is find your products , then your supplier , and finally, start selling your products through paid advertising . 99% of business ' gurus ' teach this style of business - this is exactly how business works. Building a business is not a difficult process at all - you figure out what you're offering, you figure out how you'll supply it to your audience, then you go out and find those who want it. However, a brand is something different , it's another organism in and of itself. It's the difference between Coca-Cola and the unbranded fizzy drink in your local supermarket. Where a business goes out to find new customers, a brand focuses on the people it already has in its circle to create value. A brand focuses on maintaining contact with those that it touches. Up u
